A Grassroots Blog for Cybersecurity Professionals

Who are we: We are a group of cybersecurity professionals who have worked in the real trenches of cyber. We are not commercial salespeople, executives, lawyers, or general officers who have been branded “cybersecurity professionals” based purely on proximity. We have worked with a multitude of cybersecurity frameworks, we have run the Authority to Operate (ATO) process, and we have responded to real intrusions by conducting forensics and responses to the “bad guys.”

This is a blog dedicated to the sharing of good AND PRACTICAL ideas that can be implemented in both the public and private sectors. We are about to be a disruptive force for good, and you are always welcome to contribute (admin@cybersentinel.tech).

Join us on this venture as we gather some of the best minds in the US and globally who know how to prepare a Risk Assessment or how to apply government and commercial hardening of hardware and software standards alike.

There are NO bad ideas. We are about debate and getting cybersecurity in their hands of not just cyber specialists, but the leaders that need to make critical IT decisions rapidly…

We don’t have a cybersecurity problem, we have a leadership and commitment problem to fight and win this ongoing battle

We are seeing a lot of “cybersecurity professionals” put up a proverbial “shingle.” They are writing books, and on speaking tours, but without a common foundation (credentialed–whatever that really means) within the cybersecurity realm. We pose this month’s poll as a thought to why are there so many cyber professionals in cyberspace, and we keep complaining about a cyber shortage.
